I started this show to share how women accomplish, encourage, legislate, live, and love. What we leave behind isn’t as important as how we live!  Whether it's healthcare, education, business, politics, or entertainment, their personal and professional stories will teach, empower and inspire you.

February 4th

There's a lot of history buried at sea off the Rhode Island coast. Dr. KATHY ABBASS is an archeologist and marine historian who founded the RI Marine Archeology Project. She's located 13 British ships that were sunk in Newport Harbor in 1778.

February 11th

For almost 30 years, VALERIE TUTSON, has been telling stories! She is part of Rhode Island Black Storytellers. She talks about the songs and stories she learned while traveling South Africa. She's also gaining a reputation for her exciting retelling of age - old Bible stories. So sit back, listen, and get swept away on a journey of words, sounds, and passion.

URI'S Business Engagement Center (BEC) is connecting Rhode Island businesses with students. KATHARINE HAZARD FLYNN, executive director, discusses the growing job opportunities in manufacturing, engineering, computer science, and digital media.

Host of Amazing Women

Deb Ruggiero is a businesswoman, broadcaster, and community leader.

Deb is president of DR Communications Group, a marketing and advertising firm that helps small business and non-profits with branding and marketing communications.

In 2004, she created the award-winning radio show, AMAZING WOMEN to celebrate the work of women in Rhode Island who make a difference whether in business, healthcare, politics, or the arts. The radio show has won the Metcalf Award for Diversity and the Associated Press Award for "Best Public Affairs Show".

Deb is a graduate of Boston College, founding member of the Women's Fund of RI, and past president of the American Lung Association of Rhode Island. She was a member of the adjunct faculty at Emerson College and Providence College teaching Broadcast Advertising and Marketing Research.

She is also a State Representative, District 74-Jamestown/Middletown. She is a Deputy Majority Leader, serves on House Finance and chairs House Finance Committee on Environment/Transportation.

As chair of the Small Business Renewable Energy Task Force, she sponsored the Renewable Energy Jobs Growth Program creating jobs and tax revenues in Rhode Island. She also chaired The Behavioral Health & Firearms Safety Task Force balancing mental health issues with gun ownership and public safety.
